Maximum Modz 3.0 is Live!

Happy Halloween season! I know we just had a major update less than a week ago, but we really wanted to improve the shopping experience and add a real shopping cart. We also lowered prices around the board. Keep reading to see what changed.

Here's a list of what has changed in update 3.0:

Shopping cart

The shopping cart can remember your items for up to 2 days!

The ability to 'add to cart'.

Before it was simply a buy now button with an immediate checkout.
You have the option on checking out right away or to continue shopping.

Shipping Options

We no longer include shipping costs in the price shown
We also give the option to choose shipping speed
Currently, only 2 types of shipping options are available.
Still no tax!

A mini Cart is displayed at the top of EVERY page

You can see how many items are in your cart no matter what page you are on.

Product Options

We no longer separate the same product just because it has more options.
You can find options under products

Product Quantity

You can now change the quantity on the products page and shopping cart

Coupons

We now have the ability to accept coupons, so keep an eye out!

Some Prices Have Lowered.

So, as you can see, a lot has changed. Maybe even more than the 2.0 update. Well, I should be starting on some Halo 3: ODST, but I still have a little more work to do with the Maximum Modz Team.

Welcome guys and gals to the new and improved Maximum Modz! It took a lot of time getting all the code just right so the new design would look great no matter what browser you are using. This big update is really only the beginning.

Here's a list of what has changed:

Fresh new design, banners, buttons, menus and layouts.
Updated code for quicker loading times and expanded browser accessibility.
Future updates coming soon with the help of more straight forward and expandable code.

An arcade filled with games, comments and fun!
Layaway as well as financing options.

I guess I'll actually blog for a little, now that I've gotten that huge update off of my chest. Hmmm, let's see. Well, let's talk about what we are all doing in the modding and gaming scene. Currently I am about to start my own mod case project for the 360. I just haven't figured out exactly what I would like to theme it around. I'm thinking about cutting flames in the case and making some kind of led lighting change from yellow, orange and red. Maybe possibly make it flicker like a flame if possible. We'll see. If I can get this down real good, 'll start selling the mod and naturally it will be an exclusive on the site.

Gaming is about to get pretty hectic in the coming months. I have Halo: ODST on its way. Even though I always said that I would NEVER play Halo. I have never been a big fan of Halo. I always thought it was overrated. The only real reason to play it is I guess since I never owned any of them and I have heard that it doesn't change much from Halo 3 that newer players might like it more. Oh, yeah, and I received $15 in video game credit as well as $9 off at Amazon. --Haha-- Just wait until we start selling games here too... without getting too far into detail, I'll just say that I will be able to knock %5 off of any of Amazon's prices... at least.

So, back to the "hectic" gaming talk. After Halo: ODST comes Uncharted 2: Among Theives, Forza 3, Modern Warfare 2, Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Assassin's Creed 2, The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks and so on and so forth. Heck you possibly have Gran Turismo 5 out in December as well! I have no idea how you all will have the time to play each of these. I still haven't touched NHL 10 or Virtua Tennis 09 for Wii yet! This is a great time to be a gamer. GREAT TIME! Okay. I'm done being overly joyous. And it isn't like the games just stop there either because next year you Super Mario Galaxy 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Red Steal 2, God of War 3 and much more! It's madness I tell you MADNESS!

More Xbox 360 DVD Drive Replacement Options

Our first blog and with it, comes some nice news that we now have three options for replacement DVD-Rom drives for your Xbox 360 console. This makes it much easier and quicker to fix Xbox 360s that don't have BenQ drives. I'll list the basic steps on how to replace your drives below, but make sure you check out our technical help section coming soon for more detailed instructions.

The drives each cost just $54.99 and are BenQ, Toshiba-Samsung and Hitachi-LG made. You can also have one of our professional repairmen replace the drive for you. This costs only $74.99 (price drop from $79.99) plus the cost for you to ship the console to us. Shipping back to you is included. CHECK 'EM OUT

The following, basic instructions are for disc read errors and broken disc drives/burned out lasers:

Open up your Xbox 360 case.
Look at the DVD-Rom drive and check out which make/brand you have. The model isn't a huge deal, as long as you find out which make/brand your drive is. It should be either BenQ, Toshiba-Samsung or Hitachi-LG (HL) Data Storage brand.
Now your order your new drive from us with THE SAME MAKE/BRAND name.
When you get your new drive, you need to take both drives apart. There is a circuit board with the firmware chip attached to the ribbon cable on each drive. These need removed and swapped. You can then put the drives back together and insert the new drive into the Xbox 360.
Turn on and see if you can play discs.
If this did not work, don't worry! You may either need more help (which will be in the technical help section soon), or it may be that something is wrong with your firmware board. This just means that the easy way cannot be chosen and that flashing the firmware will need to be done. This is a somewhat complicated process, so look for it soon in the tech help section.
